                  Welcome.

                  Welcome to Gothic Authors. This is a one-term class offered by yours truly on HOL Virtual Hogwarts. I am excited about being able to teach this class to you and hope that you will enjoy learning about this genre and some of the great authors over the duration of the term. 


                  This class will be comprised of four lessons. The topics for these lessons is stated in the class syllabus which can be found here. For each lesson, there will be an assignment and an extra credit. During the final month of the term, there will be a final exam to be completed. A term project will also be set for completion over the duration of the term.

                  The points structure of the class will be as follows:
                  • Assignment Work: 30 points each, 120 points total.
                  • Extra Credit Work: 30 points each, 120 points total.
                  • Class Project: 30 points total.
                  • Final Exam: 30 points total.
                  • Total Maximum Points: 300 points


                  To earn a quill for this course, a total of 4 assignments must be submitted and the final exam. A minimum of 140 points must be achieved also.

                  There are two awards avaliable for this course also, they are as follows.

                  The Perfect Poe Award: Awarded to all students who achieve a perfect score for the course (300 maximum)
                  The Gothic Novelist Award: Awarded to all students who complete the term project.
